DRV, the German Travel Association, annual congress took place from the 3rd to the 5th of December 2009, marking the ideal venue for over 900 industry professionals and members of the German Travel Association (DRV) to share their ideas, and discuss new industry trends. This year, the DRV had a very busy agenda including speeches, workshops and discussions that highlighted several solutions and new tourist products development plans in order to fulfill all the needs of the market. In addition, they named the most popular travel destinations in the summer of 2009 for German tourists. These destinations are namely; Turkey, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Tunisia, and Egypt.

That wasn’t all; the forum also highlighted the increasing fondness of the German travelers with the all inclusive packages for summer holidays, whereby they can plan their expenditure more accurately and hence their interest in Egypt for its lucrative value for money offerings.

Amongst the topics in the panel discussions was the “flexible package holidays” and “dynamic packaging” and how to meet the individual customer wishes including flexible production and applying high technology to create these exceptional packages which are gaining popularity. In addition, the panel stressed the need for the industry partners to cooperate with each other in order to make things easier for them and for customers.
